October 28 & 29, 2000

Jon, Mark & I had decided to return to The Texas Renaissance Festival in 2000 before we had even left in 1999. I guess I talked so much about what a good time I had there that Shel, Jonno and Erik all wanted to go as well. I decided the best way to handle this situation was to pick a weekend other than the one I was meeting Jon & Mark to attend with my CA friends. Rhonda told me how much fun Halloween is there, so we choose that weekend.

Unfortunately Erik missed his flight, Jonno became Mr. Cranky-pants and it rained ... but *I* still had a good time. Rhonda, Shel and I were even treated to an amazing middle of the night concert in the chapel.

When I say it rained, that is a bit of an understatement. IT POURED!! TRF started to look more like a lake than a faire. It was one of those moments where life was handing me lemons and I decided to make lemonade. The shops were packed with people trying to escape getting drenched. Me ... I went dancing down the middle of the road splashing in the puddles like I was re-enacting Gene Kelly's Singing In The Rain scene. Of course I ended up flying home on Sunday looking like a drowned rat and my boots have never fully recovered, but it was worth it.
